About Dr Rachel Walker

My background is in primary school teaching (both mainstream and special). Currently, I am a senior leader in an autism-specific special school with responsibility for staff training, and research and development. I give lectures on autism and special education themes for local Initial Teacher Training (ITT) providers and I deliver the Autism Education Trust's Schools Programme training, in collaboration with the Enfield Advisory Service for Autism. I enjoy mentoring teachers through different stages of their educational and career development, from their initial training and their NQT year right through to leadership and other educational qualifications, including NPQML, NPQSL and MA Education students.

In addition to my day job, I am an Associate of the London Center for Leadership in Learning (LCLL) at the UCL Institute of Education and I have a keen interest in educational research.  I strive to bridge the gap between research and practice by promoting collaborative enquiry amongst teachers and facilitating research and development work in schools.
